The Author's Tale
My name is Evelyn...

Since I was young I'd write poems and dramatically narrated diary entries, which oddly enough, I took great pleasure in sharing with my friends. As an only child I frequently dreamed up stories, which so happened to get me in trouble at school on more than one occasion. My teacher did not find it cute or impressive, in any sense of the term, that I used the assigned bible study time to select war-centric scriptures to build my own stories from.
Today I write Romantasy novels. To me the genre is an escape and it has been the perfect prescription to aid my struggle with depression.
It is my dream that my stories will give my readers an escape I often found solace in, and to let them know it is alright to feel broken sometimes.
Depression is not just a mindset, and even though there may be bad days, you are never alone.

I don't write pretty stories, mine are dark and emotionally driven. My characters are flawed, just as I believe we all are. My aim is to make their flaws, however dramatic they may be, relatable. That you, who have stayed long enough to read this line, may find comfort in knowing you are not alone and there is always a happy ending if you are brave enough to endure the suffering and look for it. I want my readers to feel seen, just as I felt seen through Feyre's character at the start of A Court of Mist and Fury.
